
Donna Carole Roberts has lived and worked in Canada, Brazil and the U.S., helping to bring a global perspective to her professional work and community service.
Donna earned an M.S. in Environmental Sciences, from Florida Gulf Coast University, where her thesis research focused on Brazilian women socio-environmental educators and advocates. Her a B.A. in Journalism/Mass Communication is from University of Georgia's Henry W. Grady School of Journalism, home of the Peabody Award.
Currently, Donna is an adjunct instructor in the Falk School of Environment and Sustainability at Chatham University in Pittsburgh.
In late 2015, as Producer/Director, Donna completed her longtime labor of love, the 52-minute documentary film, Yemanjá: Wisdom from the African Heart of Brazil, with renowned Canadian filmmaker Donna Read who was Associate Director/Editor. www.yemanjathefilm.com (Please visit the film's bilingual website.)
The film's English-language version is narrated by Pulitzer Prize-winning writer Alice Walker. What a gift to work with Ms. Walker who in the process became a friend.
The Portuguese-language version - Iemanjá: Sabedoria ecológica do coração do Brasil - is narrated by Brazilian actor Alice Braga.
